The Van Dal brand was originally founded in 1946 under the umbrella of the Florida Group Ltd, creating a brand that concerned itself with producing shoes that were both stylish and comfortable for their customers. They created the brand to specialise in high-quality and wider fitting shoes, but in looking for ways to innovate these comfort qualities within their shoes they never sacrificed the style of Van Dal. Furthermore, these features and brand philosophies are continued to date.

Since their establishment, Van Dal have continued to revolutionise their ladies shoes, introducing various features to their footwear. For example, their Ion-Mask technology creates shoes that have an even higher quality, and are water resistant as well as being dirt repellent. They also include the V-FIT and V-FIT+ features within certain collections of their shoes, which add to the comfort of the shoe, enhancing them with memory foam cushioning footbeds, shock absorbers in the heel and so on.

Despite the continuing comfort within their shoes, Van Dal continue to adopt fashionable additions to their shoes, with current trends being additional ribbons to their shoes and sandals and the use of soft Italian leather within their boots.
