Gabor Footwear – The Quality Part of Their Ladies Shoes

A strict control and adherence to quality is essential within Gabor footwear, as with 250 components, 140 processes and 45 materials being used, one error could lead to the end product being affected. Therefore, Gabor ensure that along their manufacturing line, the strictest of control is ensured, guaranteeing that rules and regulations are carried out to ensure the high-quality shoes that Gabor pride themselves on.

Gabor Shoes & The Health Factor

Gabor ensure that their shoes are safe for their customers to wear by ensuring that their components that may come into contact with the skin (including laces, zips and linings) are tested to make sure no potentially dangerous preservatives or harmful substances are used. Thus, Gabor shoes can be worn in confidence that no preservatives or dyes that could be harmful to human health or are capable of producing harmful substances when exposed to foot perspiration are used.

Gabor Shoes & The Testing Process

To maintain a high quality, Gabor's footwear is tested for the following:

  • Colour fading / Dye Migration on shoe uppers and linings.

  • Stitch Strength.

  • Pressure Resistance.

  • Rubbing of the Heel Cup.

  • Fade Resistance / Colour Fastness.

  • Elasticity.

  • Tearing Resistance.

As each shoe differs in its function and requirements, the shoes will be tested in accordance with its particular needs and so on. In all shoes the part of the shoe under the most pressure is the ball of the foot, meaning the lining material and outer part of the shoe in these areas need to be exceptionally durable. These parts of the shoe need to be able to withstand a long-term creasing, and Gabor ensure that the materials they are to use will allow for such an affect before production. Equally, the inner soles and outer soles need to have a similar flexibility to the foot itself to allow the foot to move as naturally as possible. And, as each shoe differs in purpose, the foot will be checked in certain areas for particular stresses and areas of wear and tear; as well as all decorative parts being tested.
