Wool used within EMU boots is a 100% natural product, and with it comes its natural insulating properties, which no man-made or other natural material can compete with. These insulation properties also mean that the boots are suitable for summer or winter months, as they will retain heat during the winter but retain coolness during the summer.

How? The molecular structure of wool itself gives wool its exceptional properties as the chains of proteins are made up of tiny coiled springs, giving the elasticity property to the material. Within one sheepskin are hundreds upon hundreds of these tiny coiled chains, all clumped together in natural clusters. This then gives the sheepskin its water shedding and resilient properties with the outer layers of fibre being able to shed water and resist the elements. Furthermore, the wool is an incredibly breathable and comfortable material for the foot.
