This Autumn will see Timberland Boot Company release their fantastic limited edition collection of boots and shoes; with their latest collection being one you really don't want to miss out on. 1900-1945 New England, America is the place that provides much of the inspiration for this latest collection, with their styles inspired by the exceptional craftsmanship and durability of boots from this time.

Casting a nostalgic eye back to this time, Timberland have connected their latest collection with this historical period, looking at the men and women who were of particular influence during this time. Their stories, materials, craftsmanship and values are paid homage to in their collection with the recreation of footwear that allowed them to serve many purposes in the making of America's history. Timberland's shoes and boots show an appreciation of exceptional craftsmanship that was perhaps more essential in times gone by with the need for longevity in footwear to reduce outgoings.

The ladies collection successfully blends a beautiful elegance with practicality, using contemporary styling such as covered buttons and details, patterns and stitching adopted from the past. Particular influence was gained from the Haverhill, Massachusetts shoe factories, a place where women first began to enter into the workforce, beginning the establishment of their careers and voices.

The Fall 2011 Collection for Timberland reflects this new desire to succeed that was found within these women, and their undying spirit, creating designs of originality that intertwine durability with femininity, all the time reflecting the traditional footwear that these women would have worn.

Within the Lucille Collection, Timberland have created wonderfully authentic and rugged boots, particularly influenced by the industrial era. Their practicality offers a durability that would withstand the demanding environment within a factory, whilst also incorporating a delicate feminine aspect into the boots, using details such as the sheepskin cuff.

Beauty and practicality are dominant here, inspired by the women first entering the workforce, and their transition into this place in society. Thus, the boots and shoes are constructed in a durable way, one of which allows for comfort and warmth when walking home from the factory in the snow but without a sacrifice of the style. Antique leather uppers, delicate stitching and constructed leather heels and overlays give the impression of a lovingly repaired pair of shoes, something commonly seen in this era.
