Ecco Celebrate Golf Street Shoes Success With Extended Agreement With Couples

One year after the Ecco Golf Street burst onto the golfing scene on Freddie Couples feet, Ecco are celebrating international success with their innovative golf shoes and an extended agreement with Couples. The range was first made famous in 2010 when Couples strode confidently to victory wearing these trainer-like golf shoes, and one year on he will continue to wear the Golf Street and Ecco brand logo on his headwear.

Also appearing in Ecco Golf's marketing initiatives and advertisements, one might almost say that Freddie Couples himself has become the 'face' of the Golf Street. And, who is better than the man who is enjoying global golfing success to wear a shoe that is also receiving such a warm reception from golfing fans and players alike.

In 2010 Couples won three of four Champion Tour events, before going on to win a fourth title, also being crowned Champions Tour Rookie of the Year and Byron Nelson Award winner. Therefore, his pride of wearing the Ecco golf street is entirely reflected in the success he achieved whilst wearing them.

With a 66 score in the first round of the Golf Masters 2010, he was the centre of attention, but people weren't just fascinated by his game but also with what he had chosen to wear on his feet. The condition of the Masters was that of a hilly, wet golf course, yet Couples was choosing to wear no socks and these “trainers!” His golf shoes certainly caused a stir, especially when his golfing performance seemed entirely enhanced by these shoes. Furthermore, the Ecco Golf Street allowed Couples to walk straight off the street and onto the golf course without changing his footwear.

Couples speaks about the extended agreement, commenting:
