The World's Most Expensive Shoes For Sale At £140,000

Constructed using solid gold and over 2,000 diamonds, 'The Eternal Borgezie Diamond Stiletto' is currently on display at Birmingham's The Mailbox. Christopher Michael Shellis is the designer behind these elaborate creations and having spent a gruelling three years manufacturing them, he has deemed them 'a treasure of the feet.'

Skilled goldsmiths had to place the shoes in temperatures over 1,000 degrees in order to create these shoes of a truly unique craftsmanship and design. They have been described as being that exquisite and treasured that they would sit well next to other classic worldly treasures, including Tutankhamun's Mask. Shellis himself spoke lovingly of the design, commenting:

“The aim was to create a unique form of jewellery you can wear on your feet. If you found these on an archaeological dig in thousands of years they would be regarded as a treasure – a treasure of the feet.

“But, like any great treasure, they will remain as beautiful as the day they were created – and we even offer an 'eternity' guarantee lasting 1,000 years.”

However, despite this eternity of beauty that Shellis has created, not one pair has been sold yet despite being available for over five months. Perhaps it is the £140,000 price tag, but Shellis doesn't seem worried, as his shoes have generated a lot of interest:

“At the moment there have been a lot of enquiries – but nothing concrete just yet. We've had discussions with certain people but I can't say who.”

Perhaps the price of these shoes is completely outrageous, but with a 1,000 years guarantee the cost per day of these shoes would only work out at just less than 40p per day. Whilst the owner wouldn't be able to enjoy the shoes for such a period of time, the shoes would be quite the family heirloom.
