Tanneries that achieved a silver status or above adhere to particular environmental factors whilst continuing to produce the highest quality of leather. Therefore, Timberland brand their boots that use at least 50% of leather in at least one component from one of these tanneries with a standard logo.
	Recycled PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) – with 2.5 million plastic bottles used an hour in America alone, Timberland have found a way of utilising the bottle lining found within. With pride, they label their shoes with a Recycled PET label if their boot or shoe has used it in one of more of its components.
	Green Rubber™ Outsole – incorporates a sole that is made with up to 42% of recyclable rubber. And, with around 7 billion used tyres going to waste around the world, there are plenty of boot soles to be had.
