Josef Seibel Supporting Charity Bike Ride - Lands End to John O'Groats

969 miles, 13 days, 294,000 pedal revolutions and 28,800 calories after setting off from Land’s End, charity bike riders Mark Stevens and Gary Goude arrived at John O’Groats.

Looking back, they both now realise how big this challenge was. Neither would describe themselves as experienced cyclists, so as the training and research progressed and injuries came and went leading up to the big day they didn’t know what was in front of them only that it was going to be hard work – and they weren’t wrong!

Everyday presented a new challenge - different weather, terrain, aches and pains and mental fatigue to name just a few. The days came and passed, some harder than others, some hillier than others and some wetter than others but as they progressed up the country, what kept them going was the incredible support and generosity they received along the way from people from all walks of life. It made a huge difference especially when things were really tough. However, nothing quite prepared them for the huge hills they encountered along the way, not even the hill training they had done in the Peak District. Coming from the Fens, it was a bit of a shock to the system!

Josef Seibel are hugely proud of being able to support Mark and Gary in their attempt to raise well needed funds for their chosen charities, helping those suffering from cancer and multiple sclerosis. So far they have raised £4,500 which is a fantastic achievement. Well done!
