The Red Wing Shoe Company was initially founded by Charles. H. Beckman, who having tried to find a practical and stylish work boot realised that such a boot wasn't available anywhere within the footwear market and proceeded to manufacture his own. Therefore, from day one, Red Wing have been dedicated to producing boots that are both practical but also represent something of classic style. Over the past century, Red Wing have produced boots that have tailored to numerous different occupations and duties, including army boots for both World Wars and boots suitable for cowboys, farmers, train engineers...the list is endless.
Thus, because of their endless dedication to producing boots of exceptional craftsmanship and quality, they have successfully created the Red Wing boots many know and love today. Including the following popular styles:
Beckman – created as a homage to the initial founder himself, the Beckman styles are one of timelessness, using the high standard of leather as with all Red Wing boots and a truly unique design that represents the classic Red Wing boot.
Classic 877 & 875 – incredibly traditional Red Wing boots, these incorporate the innovative white crepe sole that offers a distinguishing feature to many of the Red Wing boots.
Engineer – these boots were initially created for the railway engineers, hence the use of minimal stitching to protect the wearers foot from the hot embers. However, the additional buckle strap that features on the boot was added as a touch of style to the engineer boot.
To this day, Red Wing still produce their boots much like they did one hundred years ago, using the same exceptional craftsmanship and high-quality leathers. This dedication to the quality of their brand has allowed Red Wing to become arguably the best boot manufacturers across the world.
