The History of Rieker
Rieker was first founded in 1874 by Herr Heinrich Rieker in the Black Forest Region of Germany in the town of Tuttlingen. Since then, the Rieker footwear brand has remained firmly within the family, with five generations of Rieker's expanding and contributing to the brands international reputation.

Their customers now range across the world; with 62 countries and around 7,500 independent retailers selling the Rieker shoes.
The Rieker brand philosophy is to provide the footwear market with shoes that aren't simply better than other footwear brands, but that are the best. They maintain these high standards by ensuring their shoes continue to offer their customers with shoes that are long-lasting and durable, but also change and remain in-keeping with modern trends and fashions. Thus allowing Rieker boots, sandals and shoes to be persistent at the forefront of the shoe industry; offering customers a shoe that is dedicated to comfort.
Rieker Footwear Qualities
-
Room to Breathe – Rieker shoes are built with a foots changeability throughout the day in mind. As the day goes on, ones foot often expands, and the Rieker shoe is built with additional space for your foot to expand into. Therefore, with continued wear, your foot doesn't become pinched, blistered and uncomfortable.
-
Flexibility – with a belief that the wearer of a shoe should feel like they are barefooted, but supported, Rieker have developed a flexibility within their shoes, using certain elastic components that allow their shoes to move with the foot.
-
Shock Absorbing – the Rieker Antistress Sole is a unique design that releases the pressure that is often caused when walking in unsupported shoes. The sole works by distributing any shocks/pressure across the entire sole, thus reducing the impact of the foot onto the ground, supporting not only the foot but other joints too.
-
Lightweight – by using expert components within their shoes, Rieker have been able to build shoes that add no extra weight to the foot, again adding to the comfort and support properties of their shoes.
Rieker continue to expand and develop their shoe ranges and this is undoubtedly due to their unwavering dedication to providing the best and most comfortable shoes to their customers and because of this, their customers are loyal.
