Unfortunately, as fraud is an all too common feature within internet sales, as a company we endeavour to protect our customers and ourselves from fraudulent activity, e.g. the use of someone else's card.

Whilst we do understand that it can be frustrating for those who wish to have their goods delivered to an alternative address, please understand that by ensuring that goods can only be delivered to cardholders addresses we are reducing fraud.

However, we are aware that some customers need the convenience of having their shoes delivered to an alternative address, which is why we can recommend the following:

• Alternative delivery addresses. You can contact us with alternative addresses and we will attempt to get these verified for you in order to deliver them to you. However, this remains at our discretion.

• In some cases we will allow you to send us an e-mail detailing that you accept full responsibility for your goods once signed for, if delivered to an alternative address. All we ask is that you e-mail us with a message similar to the following:
  “I accept full responsibility for order number 13536 once signed for at my alternative delivery address and I understand that the company cannot be held responsible for any missing goods once they have been signed for.”

• Verify alternative addresses using PayPal. You can verify addresses using PayPal. As an accepted payment method at Hobson Shoes, we accept payments through PayPal, where addresses have already been confirmed. We will only deliver to confirmed PayPal addresses.

• If you are requesting to have your shoes delivered to an alternative address (e.g. your parents) one way to ensure that we can deliver to this address is to ask them to pay for your items, to ensure the address is the cardholders address.

• Business Addresses. We have a vigorous policy when it comes to shipping to business addresses due to the number of places such parcels can be intercepted. We cannot deliver to any of the following public business addresses:
  * Schools/Colleges/Universities
  * University Halls of Residence
  * Hospitals
  * Hotels
  * Other places we feel a parcel can be intercepted by too many people.

• Please note, the majority of our deliveries are made using TNT and Federal Express Courier Services and items will not be left without a signature.
