About Grenson
Grenson Shoes was started by just one man William Green, having been taught his trade by his mother at home (a true cottage industry). In 1866 he became a factor pooling orders to be made by groups of craftsmen. Logically his next step was to form William Green and Son opening the first factory in 1874. Here saw the use of the Goodyear Welt method for the first time in the world. Larger premises were aquired on Queen Street Rushden in 1895. Queen Street still remains the home of Grenson today. A true heritage brand William Green and Son registered their trade mark "Grenson" back in 1913 the first footwear brand to do so. Grenson
